We have heard it all: The Financial crisis, the migration crisis, the pandemic crisis. For several years now, the world has been governed in crisis mode, mostly in a rush, and to a large extend run by executive branches. Where does this leave parliaments and courts, typically checks and balances in every democratic society? Are they marginalised because they somewhat slow down an efficient decision-making process?
